GO4YOUTH
GREEN Olympiad for Youth (GO4Youth) is open for any student in the age group of 18 – 25 years and enrolled in a Higher Education Institution (HEIs) in India
Background
Since the formal adoption of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in 2015, governments and Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) have been calling out to youth for a meaningful participation in decision making and implementation of post 2015 agenda. Against this commitment, GO4Youth was launched on the side-lines of GREEN Olympiad. It is an annual MCQ-based examination for students that evaluate environmental consciousness, behaviour, and aptitude of individuals. The examination has an interdisciplinary approach and will cover information about Mission LiFE and other national priority schemes. The examination aims in engaging students in a systemic exercise through an innovative competitive process, designed to check the level of awareness and comprehension of the students about climate change, pollution, waste management, sanitation, conservation of biological diversity, management of biological resources and biodiversity, forest and wildlife conservation, and sustainable development and living.
GO4Youth is endorsed by University Grants Commission (UGC), Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC) and Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India.
